Hey, do you like pendants? Do you also like sea glass? Well, guess what we’ve got for you?! Yes, you lucky little chicken, we have a sea glass pendant/keyring class right here, right now waiting for you to buy! You will learn how to choose the best piece for your design, make a bespoke setting then add a fixing so a chain can be slid through. End the session by setting the sea glass and finishing it… woo hoo!

Choose to either bring your own found sea glass or simply choose from some of the pieces we’ve found in and around the West Coast of Scotland, or from Banff beach, where you’ll find our sister site The Smiddy. We have loads of pieces to choose from!

Can I do this class?

You can absolutely be a beginner for this class… but saying that, it may suit those who have previously taken one of our entry-level workshops. Creating a bezel and then setting is a tricky thing to do! But even if haven’t been here before, our team will look after you and make sure you’re not left behind!

What happens?

You’ll be introduced to the basics of jewellery making as you make your pendant or keyring. This includes sawing, annealing, shaping and soldering. Then it’s on to shaping a bezel before setting your sea glass!

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring a sketchbook or something for taking notes etc. Everyone will have their own bench with access to all the tools and materials required to make the pendant. You won’t need anything else as we provide the equipment needed for this session.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.

If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Making jewellery is fiddly!

Who is teaching me?

Our Taster Sessions are taught by one of our excellent team of tutors. They are kept in jelly-like pods through the back and we allow them out to teach you. Don’t worry, we hose them down first.

Six-hour class

11am - 5pm [we stop for a 30 min lunch at 1pm]
