We are a very small company at the Vanilla Ink Jewellery School. We have a studio in Glasgow and Vanilla Ink The Smiddy in Banff, Aberdeenshire and we are committed to keeping the trust and confidence in our company, whether visiting online or attending one of our workshops, you can be assured that your data will be kept safe. We have taken the time to detail exactly how we use your data, just in case you don’t believe us. Vanilla Ink complies fully the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and we will only process personal data in accordance with the applicable rules and this privacy policy.
Mailing Lists
If you sign up to our regular e-newsletter, either when making a purchase through our online shop or on another page of this website and Vanilla Ink The Smiddy, we will collect personal information as part of the registration process. We use that information: to tell you about anything you’ve asked us to tell you about (like new workshops, blog posts or events you can find us at); to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information (like to let you know we’ve shipped your order or if there are any reasons your order might be delayed or a workshop is cancelled); to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use MailChimp, to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Like most websites, our website (www.vanillainkstudios.co.uk and www.vanillainkthesmiddy.co.uk) uses cookies to collect information. Google analytics
When someone visits www.vanillainkstudios.co.uk or www.vanillainkthesmiddy.co.uk we use the Google Analytics service, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

When Purchasing
When you purchase a product (or products), workshop, gift voucher(s), etc through our online shop, your name, address data, email and contact number will be stored in our e-commerce system, which is provided by Squarespace. When you purchase a workshop, Squarespace will ask you for a contact number, we will only use this in a case of emergency (i.e when a class has to be cancelled at last minute or there is an accident in the workshop).
Credit or debit card information is encrypted. Our websites use Stripe to process your payment.
You may, of course, purchase items in person without supplying the aforementioned personal data. Mailing list sign-ups are often provided at our workshops and any events we take part in. You can find out about our upcoming events through our website or social media accounts.
Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your explicit consent.
