Signet rings are making a serious comeback, and we’re here for it! Forget plain and boring; in this class, we’re going to play with fire and craft something totally unique.

Join us at Vanilla Ink CIC in Glasgow for our Sand Cast Silver Signet Ring Class, where you’ll melt and pour molten silver into sand to form your own one-of-a-kind ring. Each piece takes on the beautiful, unpredictable texture of the sand, giving your ring a raw, natural finish that’s impossible to replicate. It’s messy, thrilling, and properly addictive.

Can I do this class?

Absolutely. Sand casting is one of those processes that looks wild but is surprisingly accessible once you’ve seen it done. Whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve made jewellery before, we’ll walk you through every fiery step and make sure you leave with something you’re proud of [and maybe slightly in awe of].

What happens?

Before the class, it’s helpful to know your ring size - but don’t worry if you don’t. You can pop into the studio to use one of our ring sizers, or we can post one out to you in advance [just drop us an email].

On the day, you’ll:

• Choose your ring shape

• Learn how to create your sand casting mould

• Melt down and pour molten silver into your mould

• Clean up and finish your ring to your own style

The result? A silver signet ring with real texture, character, and a story behind it.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring a sketchbook or something for taking notes etc. Everyone will have their own bench with access to all the tools and materials required to make the ring. You won’t need anything else as we provide the equipment needed for this session.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.

If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Making jewellery is fiddly!
