Ruth Gordon

Ruth Gordon Jewellery designs and makes contemporary jewellery in both precious and non precious materials. The inspiration behind Ruth's work comes from an investigation of the colours, textures and patterns found in cakes and sweets and in the materials themselves. A passion for colour and texture has lead Ruth to dye nylon monofilament and use brightly coloured enamels and plastics which she combine with silver, often corrugated with steel presses, to match what can be found in the confectioner’s window. Ruth also incorporates different silver chains, small amounts of gold, semi-precious stone beads and pearls in some of her pieces to give an extra edge of preciousness. Ruth graduated with a BDes(Hons)in Jewellery and Metalwork from Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee in 2004. Since then Ruth Gordon Jewellery has been seen around the country and in Japan. Ruth now works out of her workshop in Leicestershire.
