We've MADE11 some reflections

MADE11 design and craft fair saw Vanilla Ink participating in it's first event. We hauled six designers work all the way down to Brighton for the event. It ran for four days and it was epic.

MADE11 craft fair

As a maker myself, I have attended a few craft fairs with my own work but they have just been day events, not four days. So it was a testament of my stamina being able to stand for around 30 hours. Finally my waitressing skills came into play.

That aside, MADE11 had a great buzz about it and the level of craftmanship that was on show was admirable.

We made some great connections and talked to some lovely people. They were loving our concept and felt it was about time that someone was fighting for the underdogs. Normally at these kind of events you have to prove your worth. You have to show face for up to three years before people will invest in you. But nowadays people are looking for something different, something unique and what better to buy from the imagination and creativity of a new graduate.

As we stood at the Vanilla Ink stand we heard a few chuckles now and again and we knew it was in reaction to the brilliant designs of Zoe Duthie. The reactions were priceless and everyone fell in love with her work.

You could hear the "ooo's" and "ahhh's" as people mulled over the designers work and it was lovely to hear. Gaining reaction like that is imperative in anyones work, it's then that you know you are on the right tracks. Judging by everyone's reaction Vanilla Ink is on the right tracks.

With MADE11 also came meeting our lovely sister site, ContemporaryLab, face to face. And what an honor it was to be sharing our stand with them.  They are currently running a facebook competition to get 500 likes and you could win these amazing wine glasses that were exhibited at MADE11.

Just want to thank everyone that visited our stand and keep an eye out for Vanilla Ink and ContemporaryLab's next adventure.
